The Opera House Players announce a World Premiere Event.
“The Accidental Hit-Man Blues” by award winning Canadian playwright T. Gregory Argall. The show opens Friday April 12, 2013, 7:30pm at the Elkader Opera House, and the Opera House Players hope to do it up right as a “red carpet” event. There are a limited number of special tickets available that will include an on stage reception after the show on stage with the cast and crew, as well as the author himself! These tickets are available on a first come first served basis for opening night only.
The show is described as a dark romantic comedy, but don’t let the term “dark” discourage you. Director Craig Strutt says, “While the show has some definite adult themes, it is basically a story of love between two people that transcends hardship, and allows them to extend their love and caring to those around them, albeit in a somewhat unusual way.”
The show includes the talents of several well known OHP members, as well as some newer faces. The couple Ron and Laura Morra are played by Jon Banse of Strawberry Point and Cheri Moser of McGregor. Detectives Mully and Sculder are played by Edward Hayes-Hall and Sarah Ronnevik both of Prairie du Chien. Other characters include Johnny Carcosa, played by Clark Ott of Elkader, Mrs. Frobisher played by Michele Smith of Manchester, Sammy played by Eric Layden of Guttenberg, and of course, the Hit-Man, played by Cary Kann of Prairie du Chien.
Tickets: $13 for Adults , $7 for Students, $11 for General Admission Balcony seating
Tickets are available by calling (563)-873-2378 or at Moser Pharmacy in Elkader.
