The Iowa Opera House Project is a concert series featuring Iowa singer songwriters performing in various antique venues throughout the state.
Description
The Iowa Opera House Project intends to put Iowa talent into the pre sound-system performance spaces predominantly called Opera Houses, built between 1870 and 1920. They’re scattered all over this mostly small town state. As the Project gathers steam, in the spring and summer months of 2012- it will draw audiences to these theaters and municipalities. In the case of some of the better known opera houses, the draw of the theaters themselves will outweigh that of the performance.
A family friendly two hour program of acoustic music is what the Iowa Opera House Project will bring to the Elkader Opera House.
