Auditions & Rehearsals
Auditions will be held May 18 & 19 at the Elkader Opera House. You can attend either or both dates. We ask that students auditioning for orphans come at 6 PM. Older students and adults should come at 7:15 PM. Doors will be open at 5:30 PM. Please plan to come early to fill out your audition sheets so we can start auditions promptly at 6 PM.
What to expect at auditions? We will learn an excerpt from a song together and then actors will have the opportunity to sing that as a solo. We will learn a quick dance from our choreographer and we will read a few scenes. Please bring a list of conflicts from July thru December. (The more thorough, the better!)
A few choreography sessions will take place in July and August, with full rehearsals beginning in October and November.
Rehearsals are scheduled around conflicts provided at auditions and typically run:
-
Monday–Thursday: 6:30 PM – 9:00 PM
-
Occasional Sundays at 2:00 PM
No experience is necessary! Just a willingness to learn and be part of the process. If you’ve been thinking about getting involved on stage, this is a great show to jump in. It’s a big cast, a lot of fun, and one that brings the whole community together.
