Tryouts for the Opera House production of Arsenic and Old Lace will be held on Monday and Tuesday January 15 and 16 at 6:30 PM at the Elkader Opera House. The play will be presented at 7PM April 5, 6 and 12, 13 with Sunday matinees at 2PM on April 7 and 14.

The cast calls for 3 women and 10 men. The women consist of two sisters who are spinsters. The third female part is a young lady who is newly engaged. The men consist of three brothers, adult nephews of the spinsters. The remainder are of various ages including three policemen, a lieutenant, a minister and the supervisor of Happy Dale sanitarium. Arsenic and Old Lace is a classic dark comedy/farce made famous in the movie from 1941 starring Cary Grant.

David Beck will be directing the production with Kay Moser producing. Please contact us if you want to try out but cannot make these dates.
