Cedar Valley Chamber Music: For Your Ears Only

Sunday, July 19th 3pm Cedar Valley Chamber
Cedar Valley Chamber Music (CVCM) will bring its program “A License to Trill” to the Elkader Opera House. Featuring Tartini’s “Devil’s Trill” sonata, Haydn’s “Lark” quartet, and Beethoven’s rousing “Archduke Trio”, the spy-themed program brings together artists from across the state of Iowa with native Iowa musicians who have continued to pursue musical careers around the globe. “The Elkader Opera House is an Iowa cultural treasure, and it’s a delightful place to make music,” says Hunter Capoccioni, CVCM founder and artistic director. “We’ve been looking for an opportunity to stage a concert in Elkader for some time. We’re excited to be performing there.” “CVCM is celebrating its 10th anniversary of bringing world-class chamber music performances to the State of Iowa, by extending select performances to new audiences around the state,” Capoccioni continues. “We’re grateful to the Iowa Arts Council and to several generous local sponsors for supporting our greater outreach efforts.” A major benefit of the sponsorships is that anyone with a valid student i.d. will be admitted free to the concert, notes Anne Hoekstra, CVCM president. “Chamber music is a delight that we want to share with as many people as possible,” Hoekstra says, “but we especially want young people, and young musicians, to experience it first-hand.” Information about the 2015 festival, along with details about the Elkader performance, can be found online at www.cedarvalleymusic.org. General admission tickets to the event are $10/adults and free for students with a valid student i.d.. Tickets can be purchased on-line through CVCM.
